SASI Presentation Teaching and Learning Center May 11, 2011 Presenters: Salomon Davila (Engineering) and Deborah Bird (Architecture) | On Wednesday, May 11, 2011, Salomon Davila and Deborah Bird presented details of their SASI Innovation Award project, Design Technology Pathway, to SASI Leadership Journey participants and other SASI Innovation Award recipients. Salomon and Deborah described the components of Phase One, which includes the interdisciplinary, contextualized approach they will take to curriculum design, and provided the audience with a vision for Phases Two and Three of the pathway. | |

SASI Presentation Circadian January 24, 2011 Guest Speaker: Dr. Julie Phelps | On Monday, January 24, 2011, Julie Phelps, math professor and Achieving the Dream project director, presented on the steps nationally-recognized Valencia College in Florida has taken to help close the student achievement gap. The innovations she discussed include Supplemental Instruction, faculty/student expert collaboration in double-paired courses, and targeted expansion of course offerings. | |

SASI Planning Retreat Kellogg-West Conference Center November 6 & 7, 2010 Guest Speaker: Laura Hope | The Kellogg West retreat on November 6 and 7, 2010, was the beginning of a conversation that moves forward the coordination of the Title V, BSI, and SASI activities in support of PCC’s Project 90 Student Success Achievement targets. The discussion also centered on ways to engage the college community, achieve student-centered goals, and collaborate to create a common, college-wide “noble purpose.” The learning continues… |
